How To: Contouring & Highlighting With An Airbrush Makeup Gun

Contouring:

With contouring we are aiming to add definition to our makeup so choose a shade or two darker than the foundation (such as a bronzer or some shade of brown). Mix this into the cup using no more than 4 drops of makeup. Lower your PSI to 12-13.

Remember to always spray the makeup onto your hand or paper to ensure the airbrush is working correctly and you have the right shade.

  • Cheeks: starting from the hairline, work downwards towards the jawline while smiling to ensure you can easily locate the cheekbones
  • Nose: starting from the top down from about 6 inches away use constant motion to apply a small amount of product to the nose
  • Spray under the chin from 6 inches away to create a ‘thinner’ look.
  • From about 12 inches spray a little with a wide mist to the forehead and neck to add a warm glow

Highlighting:

With highlighting we want to accentuate certain features of your face so choose a shade or two lighter than your contouring foundation. Pearly tones are perfect for highlighting. Don’t forget to clean out the cup between applications. You won’t need more than 4 drops of makeup in the airbrush for highlighting.

As always, spray the makeup onto your hand or paper to ensure the airbrush is working correctly and you have the right shade.

•Cheeks: starting at the top of the cheek bone work upwards towards the hairline
•Nose: spray a small amount down the top of the nose starting at the forehead
•Chin & Jawline: spray a small amount on the chin and around the jaw area to add more dimension to the jawline
